Weihnachtsfeier-Kleid / Christmas-Party Dress

Da ich das Kleid im Frühherbst umgenäht habe, ist es etwas luftig dargestellt. Jetzt werde ich es mit einem Bolero und Stiefeln tragen. /
Because I already sewed this dress in early autumn, it looks a bit airy. Now I will wear it with a bolero-jacket and boots.

Jetzt wo es überall Weihnachtsfeiern gibt und alle ihre hübschen Cocktailkleider hervorholen, möchte ich eines meiner schneiderischen Projekte mit Euch teilen. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass ich Schneiderinnen-Technisch mit Sicherheit ein Anfänger bin, also ist dieses Projekt wirklich super leicht und hat mich auch nur etwa 2 Stunden gekostet.

Angefangen habe ich mit einem knöchellangen Abendkleid von Bon Prix aus Polyester (Unterkleid) und Chiffon, dass ich mir vor Jahren eingebildet habe, aber wegen der merkwürdigen Länge dann nur einmal anhatte.

So geht’s:

• Das Kleid anziehen und abmessen wie kurz es werden soll. Diese Länge auf dem Unterrock markieren und wieder ausziehen.

• Jetzt der Markierung vorne etwa 10 cm und hinten 15 cm hinzufügen. (Für die Naht und hinten damit es durch die Rundungen des Hintern nicht hochgezogen wird.)

• Entlang dieser Linie abschneiden.

• Nun den Saum umnähen, indem man den Saum zweimal bei jeweils 5 cm umklappt.

  Nun sollte der Saum hinten etwa 5 cm länger sein als vorne.

  

  Irgendwie sieht die Farbe jedesmal anders aus / Somehow the colour comes out differently every time.

• Jetzt das Kleid wieder auf einen Bügel hängen und mit Stecknadeln die Falten markieren, so man sie haben will. Falls Du das Kleid mit einem Gürtel tragen willst, markier Dir die Stelle vorher, damit dort keine Falten sind. Die Stecknadel wird von außen durch den Chiffon und dann durch den Unterrock und wieder nach draußen gefädelt. Idealerweise ist die Stecknadel durch den überlappenden Stoff verdeckt.

• Eventuell das Kleid in diesem Zustand vorsichtig anziehen.

• Wenn alles so sitzt wie man es haben will, direkt neben der Stecknadel im Kreis nähen und die Fäden dann innen verknüpfen.

• Dies bei allen Nadeln wiederholen und die Nadeln dann entfernen.

• Am Schluss alle überhängenden Chiffonstücke rundum an den Saum des Unterkleids nähen.

Now that there are Christmas-parties everywhere and everyone is bringing out their pretty cocktail dresses, I want to share one of my sewing projects. I must say that I am only a beginning seamstress, so this project is really super easy and took me only about 2 hours.

I started with an ankle-length gown by Bon Prix made of polyester (petticoat) and chiffon that I got a few years ago, but because of the odd length I only wore it once.

 

Here’s how:

• Wear the dress and measure how short you want it to be. Mark this length on the petticoat and take it off.

• Now add about 10 cm to the marking in the front and about 15 cm to the marking in the back. (For the seam and so that it is not pulled up by the roundness of your butt in the back.)

• Cut along this line.

• Now sew the hem by flipping it twice at 5 cms each. Now the rear hem should be about 5 cm longer than the front.

• Now put the dress back on a hanger and mark the folds you want with pins. If you want to wear the dress with a belt, also mark that place, so there are no folds there. The pin is threaded from the outside through the chiffon and then the petticoat and back out. Ideally, the needle is covered by the overlapping material.

• Maybe try the dress on very carefully to see if everything is the right place.

• If everything is the way you want it, sew in a circle right next to the needle and knot up the thread on the inside of the petticoat.

• Repeat this with all the needles and then remove the needles.

• At the end, sew all overhanging chiffon pieces all around to the bottom hem of the petticoat.Done!
