Challenge Tag 6: Badezimmer / Challenge Day 6: Bathroom

Als ich dieses Zimmer erreichte, hatte ich die Schnauze voll vom putzen. Aber was will man machen… also Musik an und los geht’s!

• Den Duschkopf abschrauben und in eine Schüssel mit einem 1/2 Esslöffel Zitronensäure und Wasser legen.
• Staubfäden aus den Ecken entfernen
• Decken Lampen reinigen
• Die Regale ausräumen und alles aus dem Badezimmer schaffen
• Behälter leeren und mit Spülmittel waschen und trocknen lassen
• Den Duschvorhang abnehmen
• Alle Fliesen mit Essigreiniger einsprühen und von oben nach unten abwischen
• Das WC mit WC-Reiniger einlassen und mit etwas Zitronen-Säure auf die gelben Ränder geben und einwirken lassen.
• Das Waschbecken, die Badewanne/Dusche und den WC-Sitz und die äußere Schüssel mit Essig-Reiniger einsprühen
• Die Heizung putzen
• Die Ritzen und Ecken bei Waschbecken und Badewanne /Dusche mit einer Zahnbürste behandeln
• Die Regale abwischen
• Die Badewanne/Dusche abschrubben und das Waschbecken außen und innen schruben
• Die Toilette innen und außen reinigen
• Alle Spiegel und Fenster putzen
• Alle Produkte wieder an ihren Platz stellen, aber vorher abwischen und sortieren und ähnliche zusammenstellen
• Die Handtücher ordentlich falten und auf Kante legen
• Den Duschkopf abspülen und wieder anschrauben
• Den Boden saugen und wischen

Fertig!

Was man dazu braucht:

Putzlappen, Mop, Staubsauger, Essigreiniger, Zitronensäure, Zahnbürste, Klobürste, Geschirrspülmittel

Und was ist mit dem Duschvorhang?

Hier ist der letzte Schritt auf dem Reinigungsmarathon: Die Reinigungsmittel reinigen!

Alle Lumpen und Lappen und den Mop zusammen mit dem Duschvorhang in die Waschmaschine legen, und das ganze mit einem ganz normalen Waschmittel bei 30°C waschen, aber ohne Schleudern. Wenn der Waschgang abgeschlossen ist, vorsichtig den Duschvorhang rausnehmen, weil sich vielleicht Wasser darin verfangen hat. Dann die die Lumpen durch den Schleudergang laufen lassen und zum Trocknen aufhängen.

An dieser Stelle kann man auch noch die Waschmaschine entkalken, indem fünf Esslöffel Zitronensäure in den Teil für das Waschmittel gibt und einen vollen Zyklus bei 90°C durchlaufen lässt.

Wenn man nicht gerade wo wohnt, wo es extrem viel Kalk im Wasser gibt, müsste es reichen zweimal im Jahr zu entkalken, da die meisten Waschmittel ohnehin Entkalker enthalten. Insofern sind auch „professionelle“ Entkalker wie Calgon völlig überflüssig!

Und nun seid ihr fertig! Genießt das schöne, saubere Bad indem ihr Euch in die blitzsaubere Badewanne legt. Ihr habt es verdient!

By the time I reached this room I was sick and tired of cleaning, I tell you. But what are you going to do, a cave is not perfect without a clean bathroom. So turn on that music and let’s go!

• Unscrew the shower-head and soak it in a bowl with 1/2 teaspoon of citric acid and water
• Remove filament from the corners
• Clean all the overhead lamps
• Clear the shelves and put everything out of the bathroom
• Wash any containers with dish washing detergent
• Take down the shower curtain
• Spray the tiles with vinegar cleaner and give them a good wipe-down from top to bottom
• Put toilet-cleaner into the toilet bowl and some citric-acid on the yellow  and let it soak
• Also spray the sink, the bathtub/shower and toilet seat and outside of the bowl with vinegar cleaner and let it soak
• Clean your radiator
• Go into the crevices and corners with a toothbrush
• Wipe down the shelves
• Scrub the bathtub/shower and the sink
  
• Clean the toilet  on the outside and give the bowl a good scrub as well
• Clean the mirror and windows
• Put all your products back in, giving each a wipe as you go
• Also sort through your products and put any duplicates you have together
• Fold towels neatly on edge and put them back in
• Rinse the shower-head and screw it back on
• Mop the floor

Done!

What you’ll need:
Rags, Mop, Vacuum Cleaner, Vinegar-Cleaner, Citric Acid, Toothbrush, Toilet Brush, Dish-Washing Detergent

What about the shower-curtain you ask?

Here is the last step on your cleaning-spree: Cleaning your cleaning materials!

Put all the rags and pads and mops you used together with the shower curtain into your washing machine along with your normal detergent and wash them at 30° C, but without using the spin-cycle. The rags will practically rub down your shower curtain. When the cycle is done, carefully take out the shower curtain, take care because it might be containing pockets of water and hang it back up. Put the rags through the spin cycle and hang them up to dry.

If you never do it otherwise (like me) you might also want to descale your washing-machine at this point, by putting in five table-spoons of citric-acid where the normal detergent goes and just letting it wash a full cycle at 90°C.
I don’t think you need to do it more often than twice a year, especially if you do not live in a place with over-the-top amounts of scaling, since most  normal detergents contain enough descaling properties so that commercial „descalers“ like Calgonit are completely useless and really just a scam.

You are done! Take a nice long bath in your squeaky clean bathtub, make yourself a coffee in your descaled coffee-machine and relax ! You deserve it.
